Dec 1, 2020. 23:37 | Cameron7195 | Hello,
Would it be easy to add a mode to the attackers game, such that if a piece is being attacked twice you have to double click (and three times, triple click, etc.)? I feel like this would be a great training exercise!!

Aug 2, 2017. 14:27 | Administrator | You can let us know the puzzle # or the FEN of the position with an issue and we should be able to investigate from there, thanks. |
Aug 2, 2017. 14:26 | Administrator | Sorry we weren't able to reply sooner.. Whilst we are not actively developing the site at the moment we do read all messages and try to address them when the opportunity arises. |
May 2, 2017. 14:42 | jklenear | I just came across in the attacker exercise. I took a picture of it as proof but theres literally nothing else being attack and so it marked me wrong. How do I upload it to you guys ? |
Apr 25, 2017. 23:49 | jklenear | Hi I like doing the defending pieces drills and there are some positions that are flat out kind of unfair. positions where there is only one piece to click I mean, I once accidentally but fortunately click on the right piece the literal very second the position popped up and my time still went down. This happened twice! These positions are solely for the purpose of lowering time and thats just not fair. Kind of debating leaving this site. Im ranked 5th overall right now and h |
Nov 5, 2016. 20:02 | greenhart | On one of the exercises the suggested best move was not the move played by the engine when I tried playing the position against the computer.
I got the solution wrong even though the computer and I agreed on the best move. |
Nov 2, 2016. 15:57 | dwinkelman | Could you please add a tactics mode where the Blitz tactics (with an obvious best move) and the Positional tactics (with top best moves within a pawn of each other) are mixed? I love this site because I can refine my accuracy in boring positions, but I feel like I get stuck in either a hyper tactics mode where I make clumsy positional moves or a positional move where I start to miss tactics. |
Oct 20, 2016. 00:40 | Administrator | Sorry the PGN format is not available for Blitz problems. You can use the FEN button to transfer the position into your favourite chess software via the Copy & Paste feature of your OS. |
Sep 19, 2016. 11:12 | EthanNaher | Hi Shanye |
Apr 5, 2016. 01:11 | lordzeus | how can i get the pgn of the tactics in blitz? |
Mar 6, 2016. 23:03 | Administrator | Hi,
Many thanks for your support. Unfortunately we do currently have a system in place for this. Thankfully our costs are manageable at the moment so we hope you continue to enjoy using the site.
Kind regards. |
Feb 25, 2016. 19:40 | DarkAcChess | Hello Admin! Is there a way that people could donate to this great and unique site? I would hate for it to be taken down as i greatly enjoy the attackers exercise! |
Dec 19, 2015. 23:05 | Administrator | Hi,
Thanks for your question and sorry for the latent response. Unfortunately a problem history is not something currently implemented. It is on our interesting feature list.
Bests. |
Dec 8, 2015. 01:11 | plog24 | How can I see the problems I've completed? I'd like to be able to review my problem history, especially for the ones I got wrong. Thanks! |
Jun 28, 2015. 11:13 | Administrator | No, they've been there a long time.
Regards. |
Jun 27, 2015. 18:11 | 38325000 | Did you just add them or no? |
Jun 27, 2015. 05:23 | Administrator | Hi,
They can be found under the 'Advanced' endgames section - positions 2,3 & 4 of the Rook & Pawn vs Rook endgame (first in the list). |
Jun 26, 2015. 13:54 | 38325000 | Hello,
You don't have two important endgames in the endgame sections, the Lucena position and the Philidor position of the Rook & Pawn vs. Rook endgame, sorry for my poor English. |
Jun 19, 2015. 06:52 | Administrator | 3) Ah yes, we've had many a thought on this kind of mix up, though the 'positional' set have a certain percentage of problems with material gain solutions to keep you on your toes. Thanks interesting idea. |
Jun 19, 2015. 06:51 | Administrator | Hello Good Day!
1) Tough to say, since it kinda involves quite a lot of that already to work out which ones are protected. Originally it was just a nice complementary bonus to the attackers exercise.
2) I'm sure something could be added to facilitate this. |
Jun 17, 2015. 11:04 | tomhaegin | Sorry one more :-)
3.) I would find it cool if there was another training mode "Random" where the application gives you a puzzle where you don't know if it is a "Positional" or "Tactical" one. That would be like in a real game!
Thanks for listening! |
Jun 17, 2015. 04:02 | tomhaegin | 1.) On the Defenders puzzles, what is the idea to find the defended pieces? Would it not be more educational and practical to find the unprotected pieces?
2.) On Attackers and Defenders, would it be possible to add a button to hit when one wants to advance to the next puzzle? I would find it interesting to study the resolved position for a moment before continuing.
Thanks and kind greetings,
Thomas |

1) Thanks for the clarification. We're struggling to re-create any coordinate problems so if you happen to figure out the sequence of steps required for this to happen, please do let us know.
2) Good suggestion, thankyou. |
May 27, 2015. 00:49 | cezrun64 | 1)without history of solved list I cannot find starting point of the puzzle in question.I had don't show coordinates but had seen them , now I have show coordinates and there is no more this problem so far.
2) Can be implemented (option in settings of) moving pieces (activated only after show solution) by using mouse wheel while pointer is above chess board ? It is very useful on other sites... |

Again, the position you mention isn't on our site.
Without a puzzle index we cannot investigate further.
Puzzles where you play as black are automatically reversed so that you are always playing 'up' the board. We have double checked and this is working as expected at our end. |
May 22, 2015. 01:10 | cezrun64 | in some puzzles coordinates are wrongly displayed = so I made bad decisions , in 8/8/4P1p1/1p6/1n1p2pP/1P2k3/6P1/3K4 b - - 0 3 I instead of N:b4(which for me is g5) I moved King to prevent promotion of pawn b7... |
May 21, 2015. 07:40 | Administrator | Your other suggestion has been added to the enhancements list for a future update, thanks. |
May 21, 2015. 07:40 | Administrator | Hi,
The position doesn't appear to exist in any exercise. Nearest match is
Blitz No. 35444:
FEN: r1b2rk1/pp1n1pp1/2p5/2q4P/5B2/P1N4Q/2P1B2P/2KR1R2 w - - 0 1
with a different solution. Were you using the 'play position' option?
Toggle the 'Session/Puzzle Stats' button to see the puzzle index and rating.
Now that you know, it would be very helpful if you could specify the puzzle index in future, thanks. |
May 20, 2015. 11:03 | cezrun64 | Thanks for response .
And what about May 19, 2015. 07:20 post ?
Well, maybe for stockfish Kb2 is better , but Bd6 deserves +points not -points , if site supports more then only one solution...
Other sites show rank of the every puzzle (let's say easy one 1450 , harder 1830) - I'm curious how the above one is ranked - any chance of implementing this feature ? |
May 20, 2015. 07:55 | Administrator | Hi cezrun64,
Thankyou for your feedback. We have added a little filler to the bottom of the page to help with scrolling.
Whilst Bd6 is probably the most intuitive human move, offline computer analysis by both Stockfish and Rybka confirm Kb2 is actually a stronger move than Bd6, with an even stronger advantage for white.
If there are some other positions you think might be misjudged, we'd be happy to take a look at them.
Hope this helps.
Admin. |
May 19, 2015. 08:00 | cezrun64 | It seems that now chessboard must be only on down of the page - I wish I could scroll the page so board is placed on top of the page ( I think better having chessboard higher than lower ) |
May 19, 2015. 07:36 | cezrun64 | Concept of site for training chess is very nice .
But fun is spoiled f.i. r1b2rk1/pp1nqpp1/2p5/7P/5B2/P1N4Q/2P1B2P/2KR1R2 w - - 1 2 - now I choose obvious Bd6
but engine sees only weak Kb2 .And it is not the only case of misjudgement in my short solving history here ...
|
May 19, 2015. 07:20 | cezrun64 | please give us an option in settings to disable notification popup after every FEN copied to clipboard . Seeing it every time is rather annoying...

Jan 4, 2015. 13:09 | Administrator | Hi,
Thanks for reporting. We're struggling to recreate this behaviour at our end - the letters/numbers are switching around just fine for us on a new puzzle or clicking on the switch view arrows.
Are there any particular steps required to create this problem?
Cheers. |
Jan 3, 2015. 23:17 | cdowis | Tactics: positional
When the chess board is turned to the black view, the grid numbers and letters are incorrect. It is as if the white board. |
Oct 13, 2014. 16:40 | Administrator | Thanks, glad to hear you are finding the site useful. Best of luck in your chess endeavours! |
Oct 12, 2014. 20:38 | PipeBedoyaR | Man, great web site, I´m just getting started at this but this pahe has been very useful so far, congrats! |
Oct 5, 2014. 16:37 | Administrator | That would be a nice thing to do. Many thanks for the suggestion. |
Oct 2, 2014. 14:35 | 12basilo | I think that you should be allowed to play other people in the world |
Jul 23, 2014. 14:44 | Administrator | Hi, I forget the exact number but its somewhere in the region of 60,000 (sixty thousand).

Jul 22, 2014. 04:41 | aoxomoxoa | I would like to ask : how many attackers and defenders puzzles are in the database? |
Jul 18, 2014. 13:17 | Administrator | ---------------------------
- Update 2.04.09
---------------------------
- Ability to reset statistics for each exercise
- Attackers/Defenders now use rolling average
- Message displayed if you get all the selected Puzzles correct in the Memory exercise. |
Jul 18, 2014. 13:14 | Administrator | Thats a great idea, thankyou for posting it. |
Jul 16, 2014. 15:46 | steff29 | The section "Openings" is great. I would like to suggest the following:
You could add a Practice "button" whereby the list of moves on the right of the chessboard disappears, so that you could replay the opening you had previously chosen, without the help of the list of moves. I think that would add a lot of value to this already very interesting section. Thank you |
